Google launched its much awaited “Knowledge Graph” today. Apart from traditional search results this new technology from Google shows popular and well known facts about people, places & things. The new technology has given Google a new way of searching. Earlier the searches were based on pages that matched the query term. The new technology searches on the basis of “entities” or “concepts” the keyword describes.
Knowledge Graph - “Graph” as we all know is an abstract representation that shows set of objects connected by links. Google used “link graph” concept to model how pages in the search, link to each other, with the aim of determining, what are popular and relevant searches for that particular keyword. Facebook used a “social graph” in order to understand how people are related. “Knowledge Graph” is Google expression, which shows how Google is building associations between people, place, & things and it shows information about these entities.
